IST Consulting Group Leadership
Peer-to-peer leadership and teamwork are essential to the success of IST Consulting Group and other student organizations. A variety of leadership opportunities for students to find the position most appropriate to their experience and goals as a leader and emerging professional.
Officer Positions
President
The president is responsible for leading the entire student organization and is accountable for its success and overcoming challenges. The president shall preside over all general meetings, make decisions about the organization’s future, and communicate directly with Penn State, IST Student Engagement, and the faculty advisor.
Vice President
The vice president supports the president and assumes the responsibilities of the president in their absence. The vice president supports communication with consulting team leads, committee chairpersons, and the members of each sub-group in the student organization.
Secretary
The secretary is responsible for maintaining active records and communication of the student organization, including notes and minutes of meetings, membership roster and mailing list, website and social media, and other forms of communication.
Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and making responsible decisions about the student organization’s financial limitations and opportunities. The treasurer is the liaison between the student organization and Penn State’s Associate Student Activities.
Consulting Team Leads
Customer Service Team Lead
The customer service team lead is responsible for the consulting group members who are supporting existing clients and seeking opportunities with new clients.
Cybersecurity Team Lead
The cybersecurity team lead is responsible for the consulting group members who are managing existing projects, seeking new clients, and continuing professional development opportunities related to cybersecurity.
Mobile Development Team Lead
The mobile development team lead is responsible for the consulting group members who are managing existing projects, seeking new clients, and continuing professional development opportunities related to mobile development.
Web Development Team Lead
The web development team lead is responsible for the consulting group members who are managing existing projects, seeking new clients, and continuing professional development opportunities related to web development.
Committee Chairpersons
Emerging Technology Chairperson
Network with companies and professors to create events that further the organization’s purpose centralized on emerging technology.
Pubic Relations Chairperson
Maintain social media presence and promote positive aspects of the organization.
